The Grappling Academy

This policy explains what information The Grappling Academy (“we”, “us”) collects when you use thegrapplingacademy.net, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything is unclear, email info@thegrapplingacademy.net.

What we collect

Account information. Email address (required to sign in), and optionally your name and phone number.
Waiver information. Full name, date of birth, emergency contact, and your typed signature for adult waivers; for minor waivers, the same plus the minor’s name and date of birth and your relationship to them.
Payment information. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number, expiry, or CVV. We store a Stripe customer ID and your subscription status.
Contact submissions. Whatever you put into the contact form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent so we can defend against spam.
Technical information. Standard server logs (IP, request path, timestamp) kept for a short window for debugging and abuse defense.

Why we collect it

To let you sign in to your account and manage membership.
To process payments and renewals via Stripe.
To respond to questions and class booking requests.
To keep a signed waiver on file as a legal record of your participation.
To detect and block abuse of forms and authentication.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, only with these third parties:

Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe’s own privacy policy.
Our email provider — used to send sign-in links, contact-form replies, and waiver PDFs. We do not use your email for marketing.
Our hosting provider — operates the servers your traffic terminates against. They do not access your data.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Account data for as long as you have an account with us. You can ask us to delete it (see below).
Waivers are kept indefinitely as a legal record.
Payment records are kept as long as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years in the U.S.).
Contact submissions and server logs are kept for up to 12 months and then purged.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to: (a) tell you what data we hold about you, (b) correct anything that’s wrong, (c) delete your account and associated personal information (we may need to keep waivers and payment records as noted above), or (d) export your data in a portable format. Email info@thegrapplingacademy.net and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We set a single session cookie when you sign in, used purely to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Members under 18 train with us, but their parent or guardian creates and manages the account and signs the waiver on their behalf. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for significant changes, email everyone with an account.
