Terms of Service

1. Who we are

The Grappling Academy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy located at 80 Gravel Pike, Red Hill, PA 18076. References to “we”, “us”, or “the Academy” mean that business.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create an account and purchase a membership in your own name. Memberships for minors must be purchased and managed by a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the minor’s conduct and for all payments.

3. Membership and payment

• Memberships are billed monthly in advance. The price shown on the Membership page is the price you will be charged on each renewal.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• If a payment fails, we will mark your membership as past due and ask you to update your card from the billing portal. After a reasonable grace period your membership may be canceled.
• We may change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice to current members. Existing renewals continue at the old price until the next billing cycle after the notice period.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your membership at any time from the billing portal linked from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep access through that date and will not be billed again. We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a billing cycle. We may make exceptions for documented medical reasons at our discretion.

5. Waiver and assumption of risk

Training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling carries inherent risks. Before participating in any class you must sign and submit our waiver. The waiver governs liability for injury and is incorporated into these terms by reference.

6. Conduct

We expect every member to follow coach instructions, respect training partners, tap early and respect taps, maintain hygiene, and behave with courtesy on and off the mats. We may suspend or terminate membership for violations without refund of the current period.

7. Intellectual property

The site’s content, branding, and curriculum belong to The Grappling Academy. You may not copy or redistribute instructional material without permission. The waiver’s media-release section explains the limited use we make of photos and video taken during classes.

8. Account responsibility

Sign-in uses one-time email links. Keep access to your email secure — anyone with access to your inbox can sign in. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Pennsylvania law, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of the site or your membership is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for matters that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, PA.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, communicated by email.
